Professor David Dance, Honorary Visiting Research Fellow/Honorary Professor, Lao-Oxford-Mahosot Hospital-Wellcome Trust Research Unit/University of Oxford/London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

David Dance trained as a medical microbiologist in the UK but split his career between clinical and public health roles in the PHLS and HPA, and undertaking research into bacterial infections in the tropics, mainly Thailand and Laos. Melioidosis has always been his main interest, although he has worked on a wide range of other infections.  He has been officially retired since 2019.
