A farmer before entering politics, Julian has represented York Outer since 2010 and is a member of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee.
Julian’s interest in antibiotic resistance arose through constituency case work and he believes it is the biggest threat to the health of our country.
He is Chairman of the cross-party All-Party Parliamentary Group on Antibiotics, which aims to raise the profile of antibiotic resistance, the need to preserve antibiotics through education on their appropriate use including non‐human uses, the lack of new treatments for bacterial infections and to help accelerate efforts to discover, research and develop new treatments.
