Dr Tina Joshi, Associate Professor of Molecular Microbiology, University of Plymouth

Dr Tina Joshi is an Associate Professor of Molecular Microbiology in Peninsula Dental School at the University of Plymouth. She is an international expert in Antimicrobial Resistance, advising on diagnostics, public communications and strategies to combat AMR. Dr Joshi is Principal Investigator of the Molecular Microbiology Research Group where her team research development of novel point of care diagnostics, disinfection,  alternative strategies to tackle AMR and molecular mechanisms of antibiotic & biocide co-resistance. She is Deputy Editor in Chief of the Journal of Medical Microbiology, Section Editor for Clinical & Veterinary Microbiology for FEMS Microbiology Letters, Chair of the Federation of Infection Societies (FIS2023) and Co-Chair of the Microbiology Society Impact and Influence Committee. She also sits on the Microbiology Society Council and on the Science Committee of Antibiotic Research UK.
