Dr. Lucy Bock is a Senior Scientist/ Project Team Leader in the Technology Development Group at Public Health England, Porton. Currently she is developing an impedance-based fast antimicrobial susceptibility test (iFAST) in collaboration with the engineering department at the University of Southampton funded by NIHR i4i. As a molecular- and microbiologist she develops assays and leads projects to answer questions that impact clinical practice and infection prevention strategies. Lucy, who grew up in Germany, has moved around Europe to follow her scientific interests, gaining her B.Sc. in Biology at the University of Newcastle, UK, and her Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy, before returning to the UK in 2010.
