Consultant Microbiologist, Leeds Teaching Hospitals

Dr Kavita Sethi has been a Consultant Microbiologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Honorary Clinical lecturer at University of Leeds since 2004. She is now the Lead clinician in Microbiology since Jan 2020. Her specialist areas of interest include antimicrobial stewardship, catheter related bloodstream infections and paediatric sepsis. Having completed medical school in India, she pursued MD in Microbiology at New Delhi before training as Medical Microbiologist in UK and has acquired a wealth of experience dealing with antimicrobial resistant and health care acquired infections. The landscape of hospital infections is changing and challenging and Kavita has used her scientific knowledge and experience to deal with difficult to treat infections in vulnerable patient groups.
