Jane’s PhD in Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) with Prof Mark Wilcox sparked a career-long interest in this organism and antibiotic- associated diarrhea. She established the highly successful human gut models of CDI at Leeds, studying the role of antibiotics and the gut microbiota in the disease. She has led a number of UK and European studies of AMR in C. difficile. During the COVID19 pandemic she has led a clinical study on faecal excretion of SARS CoV-2.
