Conor is an Associate Professor of Microbial Bioinformatics at Nottingham Trent University and holds an honorary professorship at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium. Their research focusses on the evolution and epidemiology of microbes. This is centred around two areas: pathogenic mycobacteria (primarily M. tuberculosis and M. leprae) and human microbiome community integration. They use a variety of genomics and data analytic approaches to enhance incorporation of molecular techniques into clinical and public health settings and understand the basis of microbiome organisation and potential manipulation.
