I trained in Portugal and completed specialty training in Clinical Pathology. I came to London in 2015 to gain more clinical experience in Medical Microbiology and enjoyed it so much that I am still here!

My specialist clinical areas are:
– Paediatric and Teenager and Young Adults Haematology and Oncology
– Adult Oncology
– Upper GI Surgery
– C. difficile infection
– Antimicrobial stewardship

I represent UCLH in several laboratory management working groups.

I am an educational supervisor and UCLH co-lead for PGME in Medical Microbiology with a special interest in the laboratory training of Infection trainees.

I have a keen interest in multi-drug resistant bacterial infections, particularly with Gram-negative bacteria.
