Deputy Director on Bioinformatics of the Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Smolensk State Medical University and Associate Professor of Microbiology

Alexey Kuzmenkov (MD, Ph.D.) is a Deputy Director on Bioinformatics of the Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Smolensk State Medical University and Associate Professor of Microbiology. He is also a member of the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and the Inter-regional Association for Clinical Microbiology & Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (IACMAC). Dr. Kuzmenkov received his Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology at the Smolensk State Medical University in Smolensk, Russia. In 2018-2020, he was awarded grants from the President of the Russian Federation.

Dr. Kuzmenkov is an author and lead developer of the national-level antimicrobial resistance surveillance system “Map of Antimicrobial  Resistance in Russia” (AMRmap), the online platform for analysis and sharing of antimicrobial resistance data (AMRcloud), the online antimicrobial therapy guide (AMRbook), the online bacterial genome analysis platform (AMRseq). His main research interests are antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and surveillance, diagnostic, and treatment of microbial infections.
