Alex Aiken is an Infectious Disease and Microbiology Consultant at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and a Clinical Associate Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has worked for many years on epidemiological research projects including work on antimicrobial resistance and hospital-acquired infections in African countries, most recently MBIRA, a large multi-national project about 3GC-resistant bloodstream infections.
