Reducing mortality from sepsis related deaths remains high on the national agenda.

Higher Education England (HEE) is expected to take forward the relevant recommendations from the cross-system sepsis board action plan and ensure healthcare staff are competent in the recognition of, and response to, sepsis.

HEE have set up a Sepsis Innovation Fund to encourage and support initiatives that will contribute to workforce development in this area, through education and training, particularly around behaviour change with evidence of outcomes.
