18th May 2022

The BSAC sponsored, sell-out 2018 Fringe musical The Mould That Changed the World is back, with a return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a visit to Glasgow in August '22. What’s more, they’re looking for a local chorus of scientists and healthcare professionals recruited in each city to join the professional cast…

“The Mould that Changed the World” tells the story of a life-changing discovery that became a world-changing cure: the first antibiotic! Alexander Fleming is now at the end of his life, but he is not just looking back, he must still look forwards – because the world depends on it. The future is uncertain and his responsibility to make the human race understand a crucial message is becoming more urgent than ever…

CHORUS AUDITIONS

These aren’t going to be a scary formal affair. We’re just going to sing through one of the songs from the show with you, and also hear an excerpt of a song you enjoy singing. The Chorus will be 16 strong in each performance and requires you to sing both in unison and in parts (SATB), so we just want to make sure that you are a confident singer. We will have an accompanist for you, so please bring 2 copies of the song you’d like to sing for us.

  • Saturday 14 May, 0930-1630 Robertson Room, Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh
  • Saturday 21 May, 1030-1700 Robertson Room, Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh

We anticipate that for the performances you commit to we would need you at the venue an hour before the scheduled start time.
