Following the publication of the WHO's latest Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) report, we caught up with Professor Hanan H. Balkhy to find out how data from the report will be used to stop superbugs...

Since 2014, the World Health Organization has produced a series of Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) reports, which aim to build a picture of antimicrobial resistance, including antibiotic resistance, across a number of participating countries. In this short interview, Professor Balkhy explains how the report will be used, as well as what impact she thinks COVID-19 will have on rates of resistance in the near future.
