The Society works with politicians and policymakers to champion evidence-based approaches to antimicrobial stewardship, and adequate investment in education and training. We give you a voice in the debate, helping you influence policy and drive action on antimicrobial resistance

All-Party Parliamentary Group on Antimicrobial Resistance

One of the key ways we engage decision-makers is through the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Antimicrobial Resistance, which we administer. Details of the group’s meetings, members and reports can be found on its website.

APPGs are informal cross-party groups run by Members of the Commons and Lords, often working with external experts and organisations. They enable parliamentarians to collaborate with specialists to help shape the policy agenda.

Public Consultations and Parliamentary Questions

Public consultations are part of the policy process, inviting public input on proposed laws, policies and projects. Anyone can respond, and UK Government consultations can be searched by keyword, policy area, department and date.

Our Society regularly responds to consultations and Select Committee inquiries, sometimes in collaboration with partners.

We also work with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Antimicrobial Resistance to raise questions in the Commons and the Lords.
